Sport & Spine Physical Therapy
The Spine Institute utilizes physical therapists with spine focused advanced clinical training. Our therapists are trained in the most current therapeutic techniques for the management of spinal problems. These include therapeutic exercise, postural and ergonomic retraining and manual therapy. It is our philosophy to use evidence-based methods which favor patient education and exercise over passive modalities.
A self-treatment program will be developed individually for each patient based upon the examination findings and the patient's specific functional needs. Relief of pain utilizing the patient's own movements and postures will be the primary focus of the early program. Manual therapy will be used as needed to supplement the patient's self-treatment program. Functional recovery will be the focus of the later stages of the treatment program and may involve strengthening, flexibility exercises, and activity-specific training.
